Crossroads Campus

Sector: Nonprofit

Focus: Rehabilitation Services for Veterans

Project Length: 12 months

Getting focused on the right outcome at the right time.

The team at Crossroads Campus already had a strong evaluation foundation, with logic models in place and ongoing data collection. But with a variety of outcomes across multiple programs, it was often difficult to determine which outcomes were the right ones to focus on at this point in their program development. Without a clear direction, the team was not equipped to make strategic decisions to move forward.

Our approach

Using a consensus focused approach, we brought staff from across the agency together to focus on the many goals of an evaluation, including determining what is most impactful for participants and how to tell the Crossroads Campus story to the community and funders. By facilitating this participatory process, the team was enabled to determine the most important outputs and outcomes at this time.

To support the ongoing focus of specific outcomes, the Elevate Consulting team developed an updated data collection plan for staff to use and adapt as they move forward, a tool designed to be flexible enough to use long-term as evaluation focus may shift.

This work is a great example of how consensus building tactics are effective even at the program level within an organization. Together with Elevate Consulting, Crossroad Campus was able to not only have clarity around outcomes, but also fostered positive employee engagement in the process.

“Working with Elevate gave me a new sense of excitement and clarity in my day to day work. I’m able to get specific about our approach and build strategies that truly support our mission. And engaging my entire team was critical - great discussions brought people closer and strengthened lines of communication.”
